Illinois Bound: Admitted Student Day

Admitted Student Day, March 28, focuses on exploring your college of choice and meeting fellow future classmates. You'll also tour facilities, connect with resources and current students, and eat in our dining areas.

Registration for Admitted Student Day has closed. Reach out to visit@illinois.edu for any late requests. If you're still planning on being on campus, feel free to check out any of the open events listed below.

Open Events

When you sign up for Illinois Bound: Admitted Student Day, you'll choose all the sessions you plan to attend. We'll email your agenda after you register. Some activities do not require registration and you can drop in when you're free. They're good ways for your family or guests to explore campus with you or on their own.

If you could create a scrapbook of your time at Illinois, what would be in it? Find out the answer to this question all day as current students share 10-15 minute albums of their favorite memories, defining moments, and great accomplishments at Illinois! Then join for a Q&A with a student panel to hear more about the Illinois experience.
10:00a–2:00p Illini Union
Stop by to talk with dozens of our campus units providing support and services to our students. Discuss options for participating in leadership and extracurricular activities, learn about hundreds of student programs offered, and meet the staff and students excited to welcome you to the Illinois community!
10:00a–3:00p Main Quad near Illini Union
Visit favorite student locations along our main quadrangle during a 30-minute tour highlighting our academic and social community. If you have not toured our quadrangle or would like to revisit these areas, our tour guides will be ready to show you the features of this popular destination!
9:00a–4:00p Illini Union
Take a break from the festivities in our room dedicated to guests - particularly our younger future Illini! Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with Illinois-themed games, art activities, and more. Youth (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
10:00a–2:00p Chez Veterans Center
The Chez Veterans Center (CVC) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign provides comprehensive support for military-connected students, including veterans, service members, and their families. The Center offers academic guidance, VA and education benefits assistance, career and employment support, and connections to campus and community resources. In addition, CVC fosters a strong sense of community through mentoring, wellness resources, study space, and programming designed to support student success, transition, and belonging. The Chez Veterans Center serves as a welcoming hub where military-connected students can access the tools and support needed to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

Explore the recreational options at Illinois! The ARC (Activities & Recreation Center), CRCE (Campus Recreation Center East), and Ice Arena are all open for facility tours. Stop in and see fitness rooms, activity areas, and more.
9:00a–5:00p Main Library
The Library has several locations open to welcome admitted students. Stop by to learn more about the libraries at Illinois! The Main Library building will be open from 9:00am to 5:00pm with staff-led tours between 10:00am and 1:00pm, starting in the first-floor Library Gallery. Join us for tours—plus, grab some free swag! There are also self-guided tour options. Central Access Services, the Literatures and Languages Library, the International and Area Studies Library, and the Social Science, Health, and Education Library will be open. Library employment information will be available.
9:00a–5:00p Grainger Engineering Library Information Center
The Library has several locations open to welcome admitted students. Stop by to learn more about the libraries at Illinois! Tours will be offered at :15 and :45 past the hour, starting at the first-floor Information Desk, between 9:15am and 12:45pm.

9:00a–4:00p Office of the Vice Chancellor for Access, Civil Rights & Community
Complete the Campuswide Scavenger Hunt designed to help you learn about Illinois and see yourself as part of it! While you're on campus, explore historical and cultural sites, take photos, and get Illini souvenirs. The more you visit, the more souvenirs you receive. Join the Scavenger Hunt!
2:30p–3:30p Gregory Hall, Room 100
Joining a Panhellenic Council sorority is a great way to meet new friends and connect on campus! During your visit, attend this information session to hear from student leaders in the Panhellenic Council about the sorority experience at Illinois and how you can pursue membership in the community. We hope you choose Illinois and choose sorority membership! Admitted students and parents are both welcome.
10:30a–10:50p and 2:45p–3:10p Illini Union, Illini Room AB
Learn about the financial aid process and timeline for admitted students. The Office of Financial Aid will share information for students and families regarding aid packages, procedures and more.
9:00a–12:00p and 1:00p–4:00p Office of Student Financial Aid
Bring your questions to the Office of Student Financial Aid and speak with staff about aid packages, scholarships, and more. Staff will be available for walk-in conversations throughout the day (except 12pm-1pm for the lunch hour). Due to construction, we advise entering from 715 S. Wright Street.
1:00p–3:00p Chabad Center for Jewish Life and Living
Visit the Chabad Jewish Center to get a tour of the building, learn about Illini Chabad, and meet our students and staff! A Shabbat Lunch is offered at 1:00pm. Registrations are requested for tours and the lunch; please sign up on your Illinois Bound registration form or email admin@jewishillini.com.
12:00p–3:00p Illini Hillel
Feel free to stop in anytime between 12-3pm to get a tour of the building, hear about Hillel, and say hello to our students and staff! Additionally, a Shabbat Lunch with Hillel is offered at 12:15pm, followed by a student panel. For the lunch, please sign up on your Illinois Bound registration form or email Rabbi Gabe at gabe@illinihillel.org by March 23.

University Housing offers living-learning communities which connect you and students with similar interests and help to optimize your Illinois experience. Meet some current participating students and learn more about their experiences!
11:00a–2:00p La Casa Cultural Latina
Drop-in anytime to learn more about how to get involved, our programs, explore our space, and connect with professional & student staff at La Casa.
10:00a–11:00a College of Nursing
Drop in session for admitted students interested in pursuing a degree in nursing through UIC's College of Nursing, Urbana Regional Campus. This will be an open house style drop in event for students to meet with faculty and/or staff, learn more about our programs and how the process works, and tour our simulation lab.
10:00a–4:00p Disability Resources & Educational Services
DRES staff will be available to answer questions and provide information about registering for services and accommodations.

Lunch

While registering for the day you will be provided options with University Housing and Private Certified Housing. Prices and requirements will vary depending on the location. If you're not interested in participating, feel free to explore Green Street and its many available restaraunts.

  • Ikenberrry Dining Center: $10.50/person; all guests will receive this discounted rate when they show their agenda, visitor bag or say they are attending Illinois Bound
  • Illinois Street Residence Halls: $10.50/person; all guests will receive this discounted rate when they show their agenda, visitor bag or say they are attending Illinois Bound

  • Hendrick House: $10/person
  • Illini Tower: $10/person; 2 guests are allowed per 1 student

  • Chabad Jewish Center: Free; join us for a Shabbat lunch at 1:00pm to meet students and staff, learn about Chabad, and tour the building. Please sign up on your Illinois Bound registration form or email admin@jewishillini.com.
  • Illini Hillel: Free; join us for a Shabbat lunch at 12:15pm followed by a student panel at 1:30pm. RSVP is required for lunch, please sign up on your Illinois Bound registration form or email Rabbi Gabe at gabe@illinihillel.org by March 23.
