Visiting Campus FAQ

Yes, you can schedule a campus visit on our website.

While parents/guests aren't required in order for you to visit, they (including children) are most certainly welcome! Just be sure that the total number of guests you're bringing matches the number you provided on our form and doesn't exceed the total allowed on that form.

You do not have to pay a fee in order to sign up for any of our campus visits! Note, however, that if you will be driving to campus, no free parking is available on weekdays, and lunch is not provided unless stated otherwise.

Our campus visits are hosted by Admissions and provide information about the university in general, while our academic meetings are hosted by our academic communities and provide information about that particular unit. So if it works with your schedule and you're interested in learning more about one or more academic communities, yes, we encourage you to sign up for both!

Your visit agenda will depend on the program you select. You can view a detailed description of each of our programs on our visit sign-up page.

Champaign-Urbana is easily accessed by I-72, I-74, and I-57. If you’re flying, you can fly directly into University of Illinois Willard Airport (code CMI). The airport is about 5 miles south of Champaign, just off U.S. Route 45. Travel instructions are included when a reservation is made for a visit. Please check the location of your event in your instructions since programs are held across campus.

To view visitor parking options for our programs, check out our parking webpage. Please note that no free parking is available on weekdays; unless specified otherwise, you should park at a meter to avoid receiving a ticket.

Because more than 30,000 people visit us each year, we're unable to schedule overnight visits. However, prospective students are welcome to make individual arrangements with friends on campus. Visitors may also check out local accommodations.

When signing up for your visit, you should have received a confirmation email that includes a link to your registration. You can click on this link to cancel your visit, or you can email or call our Campus Visit team to let them know you can no longer attend.

You can view our current COVID-19 guidelines on our Preparing to Visit webpage.
