Application Status Help
Your application will not be considered late if your application and supporting materials reach our office by published deadlines. It may take up to 1-2 weeks of processing time to mark applications as complete during our heavy application receipt period.
Possible application status messages:
Incomplete Items Outstanding
Check the list of required application materials below. If the received date is blank for any item, we have not yet received or recorded it.
Required Application Materials
This is a summary of the items that may be required to complete your application.
- ACT/SAT Writing Score
- ACT/SAT Test Scores: The received date is the first score report received, not necessarily the highest score submitted.
- Application Fee $40 (domestic): Fee or fee waiver form needed.
- Application Fee $50 (international): Fee needed to process your application. (Fee waivers are not accepted.)
- Bank Statement: An official bank statement or letter showing sufficient funds for at least one year of study, i.e. $47,900. Photocopies of this statement are not acceptable. The account holder name on the bank statement must match the name of your sponsor as listed on the Declaration and Certification of Finances form. The document must be written in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.
- Cert of Immigration Status: A copy of your permanent resident (green) card needed.
- College Courses in Progress: A list of any college courses being taken prior to enrollment needed.

- Essay 2
- Financial Certification Form: A completed University of Illinois Declaration and Certification of Finances form including the original signature of your sponsor. Neither photocopies nor facsimile copies of this form are acceptable.
- Former High School Rank: Official high school transcript needed from institution in which junior year was completed. Transcript needs to include rank or cumulative GPA.
- Grades from Fall Coll Courses: Official collegiate transcript with fall grades needed.
- Grades from Winter Col Courses: Official collegiate transcript with winter grades needed.
- HS Transcripts Official: Official high school transcript needed.
- HS Courses in Progress: List of senior year courses needed.
- List of Spring Coll Courses: List of intended spring college courses needed.
- List of Winter Coll Courses: List of intended winter college courses needed.
- PS Transcripts Official: Official collegiate transcript needed.
- Signature: Your signature verifying that you are providing accurate information on the paper application is needed. You can send or fax a copy of the signature section of the application form to complete this requirement.
- TOEFL: TOEFL/IELTS score needed.
Decision List
- Held Pending Spring Decision: Summer or fall transfer application being held (not processed) pending final decision on spring application.

Complete - Ready for Review
We have received all your credentials, and a decision is pending.
Note: Applications will be designated as received during the Priority Filing Period once the entire application file has been completed, including the application and required supplemental materials.
Decision List
- Committee Review: Application held for final review.
- Complete - Ready for Review: Application referred to committee for review.
- Deferred Until Final Review: A final decision will be made on February 19, 2010. Please see our deferred FAQ page for more information.
- Pending Decision: Application held for initial review.
- Pending - Manual Review Req: Application referred to committee for manual review due to special circumstances present (e.g., transfer coursework, no high school rank provided). No additional information is needed.
- Pending - Special Requirement: Applicant must complete special requirement (e.g., audition, interview). A final decision will be made on March 15, 2010 for freshman applicants. Transfer applicants will be notified in a timely manner after the special requirement has been completed.

- Deny - Incomplete - Program Clsd: Application was incomplete when program closed.
- Deny - Reviewed: Applicant not admitted.
- Deny - Failed Special Requirement: Applicant not admitted due to failing special requirement.
- Deny - Lower Division Denial: Applicant did not meet lower division transfer admission requirements.
- Deny - Trans Courses/Hrs Not Met: Applicant did not meet course prerequisites.
- Offered Wait List: Applicant placed on Wait List.
- Petition Denied: Appeal was rejected.
- Program Closed: Program not open at the level to which applicant applied.
