When to notify the counselor

I understand that movements toward changing a major cannot really begin until after the first semester, but how soon should we let our counselor know that we intend to change majors or possibly double major? Would it be worthwhile to notify them during the first semester, or would that really be a waste of their time?

You can let your academic advisor know you are thinking about changing majors or double majoring as early as your first meeting during your registration session.  Your advisor will be able to go over your options and help plan your freshman schedule accordingly to keep you on track for your area of interest.
