I just found out that I got credit for my ap calculus test and at the time I made my schedule, I did not think I did. I ended up signing up for a calc I class that i now have credit for. Is there any way to change this class or do I have to wait until I get to school to change it?

Hello,

You can change your schedule August when you arrive on campus.  I would also suggest checking in with your academic advisor prior to making the change, because the placement or next recommended course may vary from major to major.

One tip:  If you plan to email your academic advisor or college office prior to arriving on campus, it is often helpful to use your U of I email address and include your UIN in your email.  This way your email will not get caught in a spam filter and your advisor will be able to look up your record more easily.

Information on credit awarded through AP can be found here: http://www.admissions.illinois.edu/academics/placement_AP.html  As it says on this page about credit awarded for World History: "History 100 (3 hours) NOTE: This test-based credit cannot be used to fulfill either the Western or non-Western Cultural Studies General Education requirement."

I just got my AP Spanish Lit score in the mail and I got a 5, but I won't receive any credit because I scored a 5 on the Language test last year. Why are the credits the same if the test subject matter is significantly different? I thought the lit. was much more rigorous and demanding both in preparation and testing.

The University evaluates the material covered on each AP test to determine how the content lines up with the content of the courses offered here at U of I.  For example, you can see that, depending on language, a 5 on an AP foreign language test could yield 8-13 hours of credit depending on the language and test.  This range is due to the differences in the material covered on each individual AP exam and the content of courses here at Illinois.  The content of some AP tests may cover a portion of the material from additional courses at U of I; however, that portion was not great enough for the AP score to be equivalent to such courses.

Further questions can be directed to your academic advisor, who will help determine your next appropriate Spanish course.

I just recieved my grade reports in the mail, and I noticed that I missed the U of I college code by one number and the scores were sent to the wrong college.  How can I show the university my grades so I can get credit?

If you sent AP scores to the wrong school, you will need to contact College Board to have scores to U of I.  Information on sending additional test results can be found on the College Board website
