Accessibility
Even though Illinois is a large university, you will have access to your professors. There are 3,042 faculty members, making the student to faculty ratio 16 to 1.
Every professor holds office hours and attending them is an excellent way to talk about class topics, get to know them better, and network for research or internship opportunities. A common issue voiced by professors is that not enough students come to their office hours.
So, when you start classes, plan to attend office hours your first week. You’ll benefit greatly.
